Luzhniki Olympic Complex (Moscow, Russia)

Das Olympiastadion Luschniki ist das größte Stadion in Russland. Es wurde 1956 fertig gestellt und 1980 für die “Olympischen Spiele” weiter ausgebaut. 1982 kam es während eines UEFA-Pokal-Spiels zu einer Panik unter den Zuschauern, wobei 66 Menschen starben und viele weitere verletzt wurden. 1989 fand hier das “Moscow Music Peace Festival” statt und unter dem Motto Weltfrieden spielten hier Rockbands wie Scorpions und Bon Jovi. In den 90er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde das Stadion weiter ausgebaut und modernisiert und bietet heute Platz für fast 85 000 Personen. Alle Sitzplätze sind überdacht. 2002 wurde das Stadion von der UEFA mit 5 Sternen ausgezeichnet und ist Austragungsort des Finales der Champions-League 2007/2008.
