Positive Reviews
positive:
Clean, comfortable rooms with the basics...
Guests generally describe the rooms as simply furnished in a modern style, with reasonably reliable free Wi-Fi and large televisions with a wide variety of Russian channels, as well as a few international ones. Many are pleasantly surprised to find the rooms very spacious in addition to being sparkling clean.
positive:
Friendly faces at the front desk...
The staff have received many positive reviews for their friendly, professional, and helpful service. International travellers are happy to find that the reception personnel are fluent in English, and the breakfast buffet gets high marks for variety, too.
positive:
Good location for work or play...
Though its location in the business district is ideal for corporate guests, sightseers note that it is well connected to all the tourist attractions via the metro. Mendelsonskaya metro station is right outside; however, if you wish to avoid changing lines, you can walk the two blocks to Novoslobodskaya station for a direct route to Red Square. Healthy travellers can walk there in about 30 minutes.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Romance is not in the air...
Many guests note that the hotel "feels" like an office building, both in terms of the minimal decoration in the guest rooms and the overall atmosphere (mostly the lack thereof) in the restaurant and lobby.
negative:
Ready for refurbishment...
Recent guests report noticeable wear in the linens, bathroom fixtures, and furniture. Troubles with noisy (or malodorous) heating and air conditioning have also been reported.
negative:
Big crowds at breakfast...
The breakfast room can get crowded and the available staff can sometimes be overwhelmed by the "rush." Guests also find the lunch and dinner menu too limited, and are thankful for the many restaurants and supermarkets nearby as alternatives.
