George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens (Darwin, Australia)

The George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens are located in Darwin, Northern Territory. These are landscaped gardens occupying an area of 42 ha with a collection of 400 species of palms and cycads, plus native and introduced plants including Adamsonia, gingers and heliconias. Cyclone Tracy destroyed large portions of the Gardens in 1974. The restoration after the disaster was led by George Brown, and the gardens were renamed after him in 2002. The park has parking lots, picnic areas, public toilets, first aid equipment. The Geranium Street entrance is open 24 hours, the two gates of the garden are open daily from 7 AM to 7 PM.
