Hotel DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin (Darwin, Australia)

Guests consistently commented that the hotel is in the ideal location, providing easy access to all of Darwin city's main activities. The hotel has direct access to Mitchell street where the bulk of the shops and restaurants are and many reviewers said that this was very convenient.

A number of previous guests left really positive comments about the excellent level of service provided by the staff at the hotel, with many saying that the staff had in-depth local knowledge and were full of helpful recommendations for things to do and see whilst they were visiting Darwin.

Two comments that featured across a number of reviews were the really spacious rooms which some felt were definatly bigger than the average hotel room and the beautfull pool which as the biggest in Darwin was a hit with guests.

Darwin is a very hot and humid place and a number of people wanting to pump up the air-conditioning to its max were perhaps a little disappointed that it did not do the trick.  Guests singled out the old air-conditioning units as being insufficient enough to handle the heat to their liking.

Seasoned Doubletree visitors who have visited a number of properties all over the world left less than positive comments about this property with many saying that they just did not feel that it was up to the same standard of other Doubletree's - particularly in the bigger metropolitan cities. Some felt is was old and in need of an overhaul, whilst others were disappointed that the mini-bar was not stocked and the room service choice limited.

Some guests expressed their disappointment in their reviews about the standard of cleaning that they encountered during their stay. Common bug-bears amongst these comments was the obvious dust and dirt on surfaces and that the bathrooms could use a thoroughly clean to eliminate built up mould and soap scum.
