Positive Reviews
positive:
Saved by the staff.
It’s not unusual to find that, when assessing a hotel stay, members of staff can shine as beacons. It’s certainly true here where they even know you by name. (*How do they do that?!) In the event of a problem or query with the room, they’ll move heaven and earth to rectify it. If that doesn’t work, prepare for a substantial upgrade at no extra cost. Now, that’s service!
positive:
Self catering bonus.
The kitchenette is a useful feature – and a cost effective one, particularly for longer stay guests. There’s a box containing all the essential items so, from that point, you can, if you wish, go entirely ‘self-catering’.
positive:
Breakfast alternatives.
There is a delicious breakfast to be enjoyed – bit it isn’t here! The Waffle House along the road is great. Breakfast at the hotel seems to be something that is grudgingly included. If they can improve this element, the hotel’s attraction becomes much greater.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Affordable, welcoming … and somewhat lacking.
As you get down on hands and knees to finish the cleaning process (*corners can be cut here), it’s worth reflecting on the price being paid. It’s not 5 star; neither does the hotel charge extortionate tariffs. Cleaning is something of a weak link, but worth tolerating in the scheme of things.
negative:
Pets ‘Rnt Us.
If allergic to animals and pet hair, be aware that they are around. In these circumstances, the 2nd floor seems one to avoid.
negative:
Areas for improvement.
The hotel is difficult to find because the main signage is too small. There is constant cold water, but hot water is a stranger to the room. Furniture is beyond old and the immediate area is run down with a menacing feel to it.
