Mountain Melodies Inn may not be for everyone, but it is easy on the wallet and has been said to be a budget-friendly hotel for the area.

Staff members have been said to be friendly and willing to assist. People have also appreciated having someone at the desk all hours of the day and night.

There have been a good amount of complaints about the maintenance of rooms at this property. There were issues with mold and mildew, dirt and dust, stains on bedding and lines, worn out furniture, bugs in rooms and lack of sufficient room amenities such as bath towels and coffee pots. There also have been issues with rooms smelling like smoke. Despite the complaints, some guests say that the hotel is a diamond in the rough and will be much improved once renovations are complete.

A few people have commented that the breakfast could be improved by featuring some fruit in addition to the mostly high-carb offerings; others did not like what was offered at all. However, there are several restaurants near the hotel.
