St Georges Concert Hall (Bradford, United Kingdom)

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert officially opened St George’s Hall in 1853. It had cost £35,00 to build and was designed by the architects Lockwood and Mawson, the same people that also designed Bradford’s City Hall. The Halle Orchestra first performed at St George’s Hall in 1865 and have appeared almost annually since. It has also been used to stage political meetings included one by Winston Churchill in 1910 which was interrupted by suffragettes that took over the stage. St George’s Hall was completely refurbished in 1984 and has a current capacity is 1671 seated, and 1872 seated and standing.
