Albert Dock (Liverpool, United Kingdom)
You’ll Love the Vibe at the Re-Named Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool
Liverpool is full of surprises and The Albert Dock has to be up there with the most unlikely of them. It was originally named after Queen Victoria’s hubby, Prince Albert. Then, it was heavily bombed during World War II and basically left to rot. Eventually, the spirit of Liverpool kicked in, as it so often does and, helped somewhat by The Beatles popularity, The Albert Dock has seen massive investment and has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site with waterside hotels, nightlife, and other attractions. In 2018, royal approval was granted and the complex became the Royal Albert Dock.
