Helmsley Art Centre (Helmsley, United Kingdom)

The Helmsley Art Centre is located within a former Quaker meeting house dating from 1812. It was used regularly as a meeting house until 1980 but then remained unused until 1984 when it was acquired to host an annual event called he Helmsley Festival, which is now known as the Ryedale Festival and hosted in nearby Pickering. In more recent years the building has received lottery funding and is now used to host many different theatrical events throughout the year. The art centre is located in the centre of Helmsley, very close to the starting point of the long distance walk, The Cleveland Way.
