Crystal Peaks is an out of town shopping complex located approximately 6 miles (10 kilometres) to the south east of Sheffield city centre. It covers an area of over 40 acres. Construction of the Crystal Peaks Shopping Complex began in 1977 but it was not completed until 1987. Today, there are over 100 different stores located inside a single covered building that has both heating and air conditioning. There is a market hall within the complex that contains over 100 different stalls selling fresh produce. The centre is fully equipped for disabled access with lifts, ramps and hearing loops and wheelchairs can also be hired. The stores that can be found here cover most areas of the retail sector and include fashion, house & home, banks & estate agents, food, books & cards, leisure, DIY, jewellery, health & beauty, and sports. Amongst the largest stores are Wilkinsons, Sainsbury’s, Boots, and Argos. There are also opticians, hairdressers and several travel agents. Facilities include several car parks and toilets that are equipped for disabled access, these also have baby changing facilities. The opening hours are: Monday - Wednesday: from 9am until 5.30pm Thursday & Friday: from 9am until 8pm Saturday: from 9am until 5.30pm Sunday: from 10am until 4pm
