Positive Reviews
positive:
Fantastic central location on the promenade
With its position on the promenade between the South and Central Piers, the hotel is regarded as being in an excellent location to explore Blackpool. Most attractions in the town, including the Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower, are within walking distance of the hotel.
positive:
Great buffet breakfast
The full English buffet breakfast served by the hotel is fantastic - based on the overall sentiment of former visitors. Along with plenty of choice, the breakfast quality is apparently at a very high level overall.
positive:
Welcoming and friendly owners
Despite a small minority saying otherwise, the owners of the South Beach were highly praised by most past guests. It has been regularly claimed that the hotel's proprietors were welcoming, friendly and accommodating.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Cramped and dated rooms
For numerous previous visitors, the rooms at the South Beach were a source of complaint. Along with both the rooms and en-suite facilities typically labelled as small and lacking space, it has also been noted that the rooms are dated and showing minor cosmetic wear.
negative:
Wi-Fi range not the best
The performance of the hotel's Wi-Fi was disappointing for various former guests. Whilst its quality was fine in public areas of the accommodation, the range of the Wi-Fi was described as not being sufficient for covering all of the rooms in the property.
negative:
Noise can be a potential issue
Although it was rarely a problem, disruptive noise can reportedly be an issue when staying at the South Beach. Whether it was due to its position on the busy promenade or because of others staying at the hotel, the soundproofing of the rooms was supposedly not completely adequate in keeping external noise out.
