Positive Reviews
positive:
A convenient location.
The hotel is close to Highway 96, 1-35 and on 119. Parking here is free and easy. There are several restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. More choices are a short car drive away. Sunset Cove, on the river, is the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. At the other end of the scale, the Ernie Biggs Piano Bar is the source of hours of fun and entertainment. The hotel breakfast is quite impressive too.
positive:
The welcome is super-friendly.
Front desk personnel are really friendly and accommodating; couldn’t be nicer. Nothing seems to ‘throw’ them and they appear to relish the prospect of multi-tasking; something they do extraordinarily well and for the ultimate benefit of guests.
positive:
Unusually attractive rooms.
Rooms are larger than you might expect and have an unusual, but appealing, layout and design. Rooms are clean
Negative Reviews
negative:
Living with noise.
There’s no sound insulation, so when people have loud conversations in neighboring rooms, or in the corridor (*and they do!) ... it really feels as if they are in the room with you. If you can get a room at the end of a corridor, this problem is reduced substantially.
negative:
Problems in the bedroom area.
The bed linen doesn’t seem to be of particularly high quality. Rough to the touch, light sleepers might have a problem dropping off.
negative:
Pool ... with more than a pinch of salt.
It has to be said that more could be made of the pool. It isn’t overly clean, so not very inviting. Then, there’s the water itself … warm, very salty and a bit yucky.
