Wonderful location near the trolley stops
This is a great location for exploring New Orleans on foot. Trolley stops are in abundance, and there's many sites, venues, and cafes to easily check out on foot. You're also right in the heart of the Garden District's notable architecture and historical buildings.
positive:
Very nice, attentive, and welcoming staff
Everyone on staff has a jolly personality, and ready with a smile when they see you. Talk to them about what's best to see and do in the city, and find out their recommendations for lesser known places of interest. The customer service level is noteworthy here, and something that adds to the hotel's charm. .
positive:
Beautiful architecture and period furnishings
Prytania Park sets the tone for a lovely, romantic, and relaxing getaway, with its décor and furnishings. Its character as a 19th century building is well complemented by the period pieces and linens, creating an overall ambience of simple luxury. .
Negative Reviews
negative:
Bugs may be a problem during humid temperatures
Keep in mind where you are, and how high temperatures, storms, and humidity may affect the environment. It's not uncommon for roaches and other bugs to try to take refuge during certain weather conditions, so you may see more than you'd like during your stay. .
negative:
Musty and mildewy smells from the bathrooms
Odd smells of a wet or musty nature, are noticeable in the bathroom. Whether it's from improperly cleaning, filtering in from elsewhere, or indicative of the need to change curtains and/or mats, it's off-putting and disconcerting. .
negative:
Little grievances that are from the building's age
Inconsistent Wi-Fi, thin walls, floors that creak, gaps in the doorways, and other little annoyances create negative impressions. They're mostly indicative of the building's age, and just par for the course, but worth keeping in mind.
