Great Location for Visiting Norfolk
When staying at this hotel you are just a short walk from the MacArthur Memorial and Museum, near to the pier and access to the Spirit of Norfolk. A little bit longer walk will take you to the USS Wisconsin. It is an easy walk to the shops and eateries at MacArthur Place and there is a Starbucks directly across the street for coffee junkies to get their fix. You are just a couple of blocks away from the nightlife on Granby Street.

Parking is an Additional Charge
While you wouldn't expect to have to pay for parking at this hotel, you do. Parking is not included in your room rate and it's an additional rate on top of the parking charge if you want in and out privileges from the parking garage. They also offer valet which is a bit more expensive than the garage, but you can come and go as you please although you should tip. Waiting for valet is a bit problematic as they are slow, so if you can give them advance notice, you should.

Breakfast Offerings Could Be Improved
While it might seem convenient to eat breakfast onsite, it is worth it to take the extra time to pop into Starbucks for a quick bite or to find a local restaurant to enjoy. The hotel buffet offers a small selection and is really not worth the price they charge.

Aging Hotel Needs an Update
This hotel is definitely showing signs of age. There are some maintenance issues that need improving, vents need extra attention when dusting and bathroom fixtures are dated. The heating and cooling system can be a bit noisy as it cycles on and off.
