Situated in a great location just off the I-40, La Quinta Inn Amarillo West Medical Center is a delightful low-rise property offering excellent value chain hotel style accommodation.
While fairly basic in terms of décor, the rooms are very well equipped. Each features high-tech TV with plug and play functionality, fast Wi-Fi, work desk, telephone, coffee maker, hairdryer and alarm clock.
The amazing outdoor pool and deck is the best place to relax. There are plenty of sun beds to choose from. Motorists will be happy with the ample free parking, and techies with the free Wi-Fi, accessible throughout the property.
The basic “Bright Side Breakfast”, consisting of continental staples and unlimited beverages, is served every morning, but there are plenty of dining options in the area, including a Waffle House and a Taco Bell.
Avid shoppers will find the Westgate Mall just across the highway. Downtown Amarilo is approximately seven miles away.

Decent range of shops and restaurants nearby
Despite being some distance from central Amarillo, guests said that they had all the amenities they could possibly need close by. While not fancy, the range of restaurants in the area were said to be more than adequate. Also mentioned was the shopping at the nearby Westgate Mall, which was said to offer a wide range of shops.

Easy access from the highway
It seemed it was the hotel's easy access from the I-40 that most impressed guests when staying here. They said that the proximity of the hotel to the exit made it exceptionally easy to find when arriving, and was also useful for getting around when traveling to a fro to their destinations.

While there were one or two complaints as well, the vast majority of guests mentioning the mattresses found them to be exceptionally comfortable, sometimes wondering how they could get them out of the doors and into their car without the staff noticing.

Issues with cleanliness were often mentioned in negative reviews. Guest after guest claimed that both their room, and the public areas of the hotel, weren't clean when they checked-in and didn't improve during the course of their stay. They seemed to feel that the hotel had lax policies when it came to cleanliness oversight.

The breakfast offered by the hotel is a very simple continental affair. It seemed to impress no one, with most guests wishing that a greater variety of foods was on offer.
