Positive Reviews
positive:
Comfy bedding and cozy rooms.
Guestrooms at this hotel are well-proportioned and every creature comfort has been thought of, right down to the premium-quality bedding, which you'll be happy to snuggle down in. The separate soft seating areas and desks create a sense of space, but also a homely atmosphere.
positive:
Between Amarillo and the airport.
If you're looking for a convenient location within striking distance of the airport, but also close enough to Amarillo to explore the city easily, the location of the Baymont Inn And Suites Amarillo East is perfect. Positioned just off the interstate, all the local hotspots are within easy reach.
positive:
Breakfast will leave you content.
The quality of free hotel breakfasts is always a gamble, and sometimes bitterly disappointing. Not so at this hotel, where guests rave about the well-cooked eggs, the sizzling bacon, and the variety of both hot and cold food. Add some hot coffee and some OJ, and it's a breakfast fit for kings.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No elevator.
The hotel only has two floors, so there aren't masses of stairs to climb, but the lack of an elevator can still be an issue if you're carting round lots of luggage, or you have mobility issues. If you can't manage the stairs, it's a good idea to request a ground floor room in advance.
negative:
Door keys are an issue.
Numerous guests have complained about their electronic door keys failing to work and having to traipse repeatedly back to the front desk to get them working again. Others have reported damaged locks on various doors, and for some people, it's caused a fair bit of hassle.
negative:
Needs an update.
While the hotel is generally comfortable and well-appointed, it is looking rather old and tired. The decor is in serious need of some updating, and maintenance issues with equipment breaking down seem to be common. It just needs to be given a new lease of life.
