Hotel La Kiva (Amarillo, USA)

While guests didn’t really bring up the question of value for money, many did say that the room rates here were actually very low. The feeling seemed to be that those who just needed a roof over their head would be hard pressed to find a lower priced room in greater Amarillo.

Those guests bringing up the simple complimentary breakfast supplied every morning seemed to agree that it was a decent way to start the day. Some were particularly impressed that it was cooked to order, rather than a buffet.

A number of guests liked that the property was so close to the I-40, since it made travel throughout the region just that much easier. There were no busy city streets to negotiate before getting onto the highway.

Unfortunately, guests had very, very few good things to say about the hotel’s staff. Many found them to be uninterested in serving them, at best, and even actively rude in some cases. Most guests did not feel that they were welcomed at the hotel and that it didn’t really appreciate their business.

The majority of guests were not at all happy with the state of their room on check in. A litany of cleanliness issues were reeled off, with some even going so far as to say that their room was “filthy”. They felt that housekeeping should really be trying a lot harder.

A number of guests who had mobility issues were disappointed with the way the hotel allocated the rooms on the ground floor. They did not seem to be prepared to juggle things around so that mobility-impaired guests could stay on this floor.
