Durango Downtown Inn boasts a convenient location, within walking distance to historic downtown Durango. Most guests say they were able to walk to and around town with no problem during their stay. Guests also appreciated the hotel's close proximity to grocery stores and the Aminas River trails. A word of caution when crossing the street though, as there are no crosswalks in some parts.

The hotel personnel are friendly, helpful and accommodating. Have a question? Just ask. The staff can give good recommendations for dining and sightseeing. Most guests thought the employees were quite knowledgeable.

With complimentary amenities like Wi-Fi, parking and even a daily breakfast, the hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Guests say the rooms were clean and the parking lot always had spaces available. Those traveling with their pets will appreciate the hotel's animal-friendly policy.

The rooms could definitely use some cosmetic updates as well as minor renovations. Guests say the carpets should be replaced in some rooms and the towels were too scratchy.

Some of the roadside rooms have bright exterior lights outside the window. Even though the rooms have good curtains, guests say it did not keep the light out well enough. If you're light sensitive, request one of the rooms facing away from the road. As an added suggestion, you can also use a clip to keep the drapes shut tight.

There is no elevator onsite. If you have a lot of luggage or trouble with stairs, request one of the ground floor rooms ahead of time or upon check-in.
