Convenient and picturesque location.
The guest house is situated in downtown Durango meaning that it is only a short stroll away from the local amenities and tourist attractions. Guests said that being able to watch the famous Rio Grande trains from the porch as well as the sunsets above the mountains were the highlights of their stay. If you like the idea of being in a central yet scenic location then you certainly won't be disappointed. .

The guest house retains many of its original period features and is furnished with antique pieces of furniture and artwork which adds to the charm. Guests said that staying here was a unique experience and many enjoyed learning about the rich history of the building. .

Guests were pleased to find that their rooms were clean and nicely appointed with antique furniture and quality upholstery. Although the building is old, many appreciated the modern and well-equipped bathrooms which were also said to be hygienic and kept spotless by the housekeeping throughout the guests' stay. .

Lack of windows.
Rooms facing the inner courtyard do not have windows and guests were disappointed to find that their rooms were dark and closed-in. Even though there are air-conditioning units, many said that the lack of windows made their rooms feel rather stuffy.

The walls have been described as being quite thin as guests said that they could hear televisions as well as conversations from the adjoining rooms. Guests also objected to being able to hear noise from the hallways. .

Many guests found it difficult using the lift as they had to manually close the metal door which was said to be quite stiff and heavy. The lift was also described as being very small. .
