There are smoking and non-smoking rooms here
This hotel offers both non-smoking and smoking rooms which is quite evident, because when you step over the threshold of a room that has housed smokers in the past, the acrid, stale smell of second-hand smoke is hard to miss. If this is a problem for you, be sure to state your preference for a non-smoking room upon booking, and then again at check-in.
negative:
The neighborhood is sketchy
This hotel is located in a rather run-down part of downtown and you may encounter some unsavory characters in the neighborhood, especially if you are out walking your dog or exploring. The hotel does have security cameras, but nonetheless, it's probably a good idea to keep your personal belongings with you, rather than leaving them in your car.

You must put down a deposit when paying with cash
Baymont Inn and Suites Albuquerque requires that you put down a refundable deposit when paying with cash which could prove to be a hassle if you aren't prepared ahead of time.
