Positive Reviews
positive:
Service is consistently friendly
Despite a few other issues at this hotel, friendly service from the front desk staff seems assured. A warm welcome, advice about local restaurants, and local area info seem forthcoming. Guests also comment that the staff that attend to housekeeping duties are also quick with a smile and provide good service.
positive:
Decent location
Although this hotel won't place you in the downtown area, many guests appreciated the extra quiet this afforded them. Reviews also describe how the hotel places you near shopping and some decent dining options. Plus, the area's main attractions are typically no more than a 15 to 20-minute drive.
positive:
Impressive Wi-Fi
The quality of the Wi-Fi can make or break the quality of your stay at a hotel. At the Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Kansas City, it appears to make it. Guests report that the connection is fast, reliable, and able to handle large files. It seems unlikely that getting some work done (or catching up on social media) will be an issue.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A few concerns with the rooms
Many guests are perfectly satisfied with the quality of the rooms but, while cleanliness doesn't seem to be an issue, reviews do highlight some problems. These include noisy air-con and fridges, as well as ambient light and some noise from the hallways.
negative:
Cramped parking lot
A number of guests describe the parking lot at the hotel as cramped and difficult to navigate. The actual spaces also attract some criticisms for being tiny. You may have a problem if you need to park a larger vehicle.
negative:
Mixed opinions of breakfast
The quality of the free buffet breakfast seems a little hit and miss, with a fair number of guests describing it as uninspiring. Another problem seems to be that the food is depleted early on in the service and staff don't seem particularly quick to restock the buffet if they do at all.
