positive:
Go Wild...
Many travelers choose Embassy Suites St Paul-Downtown as a base for visiting the nearby Xcel Energy Center, home of the Minnesota Wild. The arena is about 20 minutes away on foot, though many guests prefer to take the hotel's complimentary shuttle. There are also several popular restaurants and museums within walking distance.
positive:
Lots of room to relax...
Guests generally describe the suites as comfortable, clean, and spacious, with all the necessary amenities and traditional decor. Families particularly appreciate the two-room layout, as it allows the parents and kids to maintain their usual sleeping schedules -- and television-viewing preferences!
positive:
Eat, drink, and be happy...
Many hungry guests enjoy the full American buffet breakfast, and compliments often go to the chef for the made-to-order omelets. The food in the on site Irish pub receives good reviews, and the Manager's Reception is very popular, too, in part for the skilled and personable bartender, a long-time employee.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Climate control issues...
Several guests have noted that the heating and cooling is centrally controlled according to the season, and have had trouble adjusting the temperature in their rooms. Others note that the air conditioning is too noisy for a good night's sleep.
negative:
Parking it...
The on site parking seems to be limited, as several guests have reported difficulty finding a space and note that the overflow lot is a two-block walk. However, many guests who do get a spot are irritated by the additional charge for parking.
negative:
Patience is a virtue...
Guests have reported a very weak Wi-Fi signal, and also very slow elevators. Some have also experienced inconveniently long waits at the front desk, or for items requested from housekeeping.
