Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient, central location
The hotel enjoys an excellent location just a short walk from all the amenities of St Pauls. Guests whose rooms face the river can enjoy stunning views- especially at night, and the city beyond. Those attending concerts at the nearby stadium find the location particularly convenient.
positive:
Excellent dining options
Guests are highly complimentary of the dining options at the hotel, with many suggesting that the food is well-cooked regardless of whether you opt to dine in the hotel restaurant, coffee shop or in your suite.
positive:
A great nights sleep
The InterContinental brand pride themselves on offering a great night's sleep to guests, and from recent reviews, it would appear they are succeeding. Mattresses are of the pillow-top variety, pillows are exceptionally comfortable and the bedding is luxurious.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Compact room sizes
One criticism of the rooms at the hotel is that they are quite compact in size. You can, of course, opt to pay to upgrade if you particularly require a larger room, though, and they are all well decorated and freshly renovated.
negative:
Facilities downgraded following renovations
Having recently undergone an extensive renovation programme, most facilities and décor in the hotel has improved dramatically. Having said that, some previously popular amenities, such as the pool and whirlpool bath, have been removed and some feel this downgrades the facilities somewhat.
negative:
Pay for parking
For a hotel that is not considered a budget option, most guests are surprised to find that they also need to pay for parking, over and above their accommodation rates. Given the hotels central location, however, many find this quite understandable.
