Positive Reviews
positive:
Outstanding eats
Its restaurant was perhaps this hotel's most talked about attraction. Many loved its hearty menu, which boasted traditional picks like scampi and fish and chips, but the steaks also came highly praised. The overall quality of this eatery raised the profile of this property considerably.
positive:
Good location with minimal road noise
Many found the location of this property - set close to shops as well as a major thoroughfare - to be altogether convenient. Despite being right on State Route 72, guests were pleased to find that road noise was not a problem in units.
positive:
Delightfully spacious
Individual guest units were praised for their airy, spacious feel. This was an unexpected perk, something that raised the overall guest experience at this property.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Foul odours in rooms, renovation needed
There were consistent reports of strong, foul odours in rooms. Many were also unhappy to find that floors and carpets were less than clean; guests noted that socks and feet were black with dirt after walking over these surfaces. There were also multiple reports of heavy wear and tear in rooms, especially broken curtain rods. Given this, many commented that units are in need of some TLC.
negative:
Staff could be friendlier
Ranging from sullen to downright grumpy, the staff at this property weren't particularly warm. Guests would have appreciated a friendlier, more smiley attitude.
negative:
Panhandlers and fire alarms
There were multiple reports here of guests being disturbed in the middle of the night by panhandlers asking for money. This, of course, was disturbing. There also appears to be a problem with false fire alarms at this hotel, with many guests commenting that these devices seem to be prone to going off in the middle of the night.
