Overlooking Rocquaine Bay is the two-star Imperial Hotel which has been in operation for over 100 years. Rooms are all ensuite with tea/coffee facilities, a TV and DVD player. They are all simply decorated and feature large windows, some even boasting sea views and/or a balcony. Free Wi-Fi is available all over the hotel and on-site parking is available also free of charge. The Imperial Hotel is pet-friendly and guests can enjoy fair weather in the gardens. Dining options to suit various different tastes can be found at the hotel’s Water’s Edge Restaurant where the menu includes freshly caught seafood from the bay. Food and drink can also be ordered at the Beau Rivage bar/lounge. Guernsey Airport is five minutes away and several popular cliff-side and country walking routes are nearby as well. The beach is right across the road as well.

The hotel is conveniently placed right across from the beach, surrounded by footpaths and right outside is a bus stop, so it is certainly a great base for the adventurous souls. If you want to explore the landscape by car, there is also plenty of parking but many guests found it quite an experience to walk along the cliffs or the beach, for example. The bus route includes stops in town and at the airport.
The hotel creates an environment fit for a family trip; children of all ages are certainly welcomed and those under two years old stay for free with cots available on request. Not to mention dogs are allowed at no extra cost and the surrounding area is said by previous guests to be great for walks with them.
Although the building has lots of character in general, the hotel's interior décor tends to look a little tired and outdated.
The bar/lounge does stay open late, particularly over the weekend, so to avoid possible disturbances from music or talking, etc., request a room higher up or on the other side of the hotel rather than above the bar.
As can be expected given the age of the building, there are no lifts on the property, however there are rooms on the ground floor for those with limited mobility.
