The picturesque setting of the St. Pierre Park Hotel with landscaped gardens and a lake is ideal for a relaxing stay. Patios or terraces leading off the hotel rooms allowed guests to enjoy the views while drinking morning coffee or an evening cocktail. They found the hotel a perfect spot for visiting Guernsey and walking the island.

Spacious and comfortable rooms with pleasant colour schemes and well equipped bathrooms added to the hotel’s relaxing ambience. Guests described the rooms as well furnished and inviting. Ammenities such as a fridge and safety box were also appreciated.

The hotel’s restaurant and cafe both overlook the lake and landscaped grounds and whether guests were enjoying a full English breakast or having dinner, they thought the views added to the dining experience. They also enjoyed the wide selection and quality of the food, especially the breakfasts.

The hotel is under new management and some areas are being updated. This is none too soon for a few guests who felt that, despite its picturesque grounds, the St. Pierre Park has a slightly tired appearance. Sometimes change is not for the better though and guests who had visited in the past were nostalgic for the more personal service they’d once received. A modern touch guests would have appreciated is air condtioning; fans in the hotel rooms were inadquate and guests complained of warm and stuffy rooms.

Guests thought the food and drink were overpriced. They described the price of a glass of wine as exorbitant and outrageous and after one visit to the bar, some said they would not return because of the prices. They also complained about slow service in the restaurants and of breakfast toast arriving cold and with insufficient butter.

Guests expecting to enjoy a quiet stay were unable to sleep because of the noise from fire escape doors being repeatedly opened and closed. Others complained of noise from large parties taking place at the hotel.
