positive:
Superb restaurant with Thai food.
People who enjoy Thai food will want to stop in for a meal. The hotel’s Star of Siam restaurant has been in business for nearly 30 years, creating Thai dishes using home perfected recipes at a price that is as good on the wallet as it is the stomach.
positive:
Very courteous and understanding staff.
Throughout the accommodation everyone working at the Highfield Hotel treats guests with courtesy and friendliness as they go out of their way to make sure every visitor enjoys their stay.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Noisy motorway traffic runs through the night.
Highfield Hotel is located just off the A1, next to the A690 dual carriageway. While this spot provides great access to the road for people coming and going, it means dealing with a lot of traffic noise that will keep people staying in rooms near the road
negative:
Some guestroom equipment is faulty.
Amenities in the guestrooms could do with replacing. Items which people report having issues with include getting reception on the television and not being able to get the kettle to work.
negative:
Accommodation is in need of an upgrade.
Minor touches could do a lot to help this hotel not feel so dated. One of the biggest things that needs tackled is the guestroom en suites, which need some work in order for them to meet modern expectations.
