The standards of cleanliness throughout are very high and are a main feature of the stay here. The TV doesn’t have Foxtel, but ... life goes on; it's not a deal-breaker. Beds are comfortable.

The beach, town centre, shops, weekend markets and restaurants, are all within easy walking distance.

Management and members of staff are all very pleasant and helpful, ready to offer suggestions as to best value restaurants and shops.

Rooms are very dated now and outside areas are poorly maintained.  The approach to any hotel forms that lasting first impression. Here ‘it’s not good – and frustratingly so. They just need to invest time and effort into bringing the outside areas up to a reasonable level. Then, the customer reaction will be better. All in all and as it stands, it is rather expensive for what is offered. Things like the bathroom light just don’t work. It’s OK for one night but, If staying longer, the lack of a door to the toilet will start to annoy. Shower tiles etc are cracked and well past their sell-by date.

The much need air conditioning is old and very noisy. You have a choice of not sleeping because of the noise or not sleeping because of the heat and humidity. Either way, sleep is something of a luxury.

There’s a wall encased pipe that judders every time another room goes to the toilet or takes a shower. *Might be an air-lock? Consequently, throughout the night and gathering in pace during the early morning period, it's a source of great irritation.
