Positive Reviews
positive:
Jacuzzi suites are very well set up
Going through the reviews, it was clear that it was the guests who had booked one of the suites with an in-room jacuzzi who were the happiest. They felt that the whole room was well set up, with the jacuzzi placed in just the right spot, and the whole design of the room set up for romance.
positive:
Friendly and understanding staff
Guests seemed to have only good things to say about the hotel's staff. They were described as very friendly and helpful, but given that the hotel is so popular with couples on a romantic escape, thankfully also discreet.
positive:
Free parking onsite
Guests were very happy with the free parking onsite. There seemed to be plenty of it, so they never had to struggle to find a spot, with guests impressed that there was no charge, something they would be unlikely to find in downtown Montreal.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Confirmed room rates not honoured
A number of guests were very upset that their confirmed booking was not honoured. They spoke about going through the entire process of booking on a third party booking engine, only to be told on check in that they were to be charged more because demand for those dates had increased.
negative:
Pervasive smell of smoke
Quite a few guests were upset to discover that their presumably non-smoking room smelled strongly of tobacco smoke, wondering aloud what the point of booking a non-smoking room was if they were simply going to be assigned a room that had recently been occupied by smokers.sed.
negative:
Breakfast too simple for many
Most guests did not seem to think much of the complimentary breakfast, saying that it was incredibly simple and sparse and that those who really enjoy a good breakfast should probably aim to have theirs elsewhere.
