Davidson and his wife traveled to the deep south they were impressed by the civil war era plantations . On returning home in 1910 the couple created an antebellum style mansion, White Hall, in Greencastle. Gettysburg, Antietam and Harper's Ferry are a few of the historic areas a short drive away. Prime outlets and numerous antique malls are within a 30 minute drive. Greencastle Greens, the Western Maryland Rail Trail, C&O Canal, and Caledonia State Park provide year round outdoor activities.
