Hotel The Westin Tampa Waterside (Tampa, USA)

The Westin in Tampa Harbor Island is set in lush surroundings on Harbor Island. The hotel has benefits of the harbor as well as the vibrant city as it is close to both. Downtown Tampa is ten-minutes away. Several attractions like Amalie Arena where sports events and concerts are held, as well as the Tampa Convention Center are a few minutes' walk from the hotel.

The rooms are simple but attractive with their cream colors. Rooms offer city or bay views and have facilities of flat screen TV with premium channels, work desk, coffeemaker and minifridges. Suites have an added living room with a pull out sofa and some upgraded suites have additions of a dining table and microwave.

The hotel has a business center which is an ideal choice for meetings and special events like weddings with its conference facilities and harbor views. The bar is present for snacks and cocktails. Wi-Fi is complimentary in the lobby of the hotel.

Guests booking through travel websites are given secondary treatment and not allowed to choose a preferred room. The hotel needs a general update as it appears dated. The carpets are dirty and unappealing.

Many of the amenities like Wi-Fi in the rooms, parking and breakfast are charged. The pool area is too small for the size of the hotel. Maintenance and cleanliness does not meet the standards for the price charged by the hotel.

The rooms are old with the walls showing a lot of repairs and repaint. The doors are heavy and old and make noise while being opened and closed. Toilet dispensers are hung off on the bathroom walls and sinks are cracked.
