Out of the Way Location
While this hotel is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of town, it also means there isn't much to do within walking distance. A horse and carriage ride to the hotel is about 25 minutes and you have to plan time for the carriage to pick you up, so assume more like 45 minutes to an hour. Be sure and bring back snacks from town, as there isn't a convenience store nearby.
negative:
No Air Conditioning
There are no rooms with air conditioning at this hotel. This is normally not a problem for the majority of the season, but occassionally extreme summer heat makes it way to the island which makes for an uncomfortable night's rest.

Better Dining Options Elsewhere
Guests say the quality of dinner at the inn is not remarkable and quite expensive. If you spend the day in town, you'd be better off getting dinner before you make your way back to the hotel, especially if you are traveling with young kids.
