Hotel Splendid Star Suite (Hanoi, Vietnam)

The location of the hotel was one of the prime reasons that the guests preferred this hotel. It is located in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, yet in the centre of the city, that is surrounded by shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. St. Joseph Cathedral is situated just opposite the hotel, making it very simple to locate it on maps. Hoan Kiem Lake is also a short stroll from the hotel.

Staff at the hotel was very well trained and had a thoroughly professional attitude. They were helpful and extended best services to the guests. Arranging city tours for the guests, recommending places to visit etc. was managed perfectly and guests said that the staff had knowledge of English, thus it was easy to converse.

Rooms in the hotel were well maintained and kept spotlessly clean. Guests said that the rooms very exactly resembling as shown in the pictures on the website. The rooms with balconies had amazing views over St. Joseph Cathedral and the lakeside. Moreover, the rooms were spacious and comfortable with cosy beds.

Many guests said that lack of an elevator was a major drawback of the hotel. It's a tedious task to reach the room with all the luggage. Moreover, guests with special mobility needs require elevators for ease of access.

The hotel is located in the city centre. Thus there are a lot of shops, pubs and restaurants in the vicinity, making the surroundings noisy all the time. Moreover, the church bells of the St. Joseph Cathedral chimed most of the night and even early morning.

The Internet connectivity in the hotel premises was very weak and sporadic. There was hardly any Wi-Fi in the rooms.
