The central location of this property in the Texas border city of El Paso appealed to many travellers as it was easily accessible by car and within easy driving distance of USA-Mexico frontier crossings. The proximity of Interstate 10 also made it easy to reach beauty spots, military sites, historic neighbourhoods, theme parks, shopping malls and the airport. The ample free parking was another plus. Furthermore, there were bus stops plus shops and dining options in the surrounding area.

It was reported that certain rooms were exposed to occasional road noise from the nearby freeway or aircraft noise due to the proximity of the airport.
