Hotel Miramar (San Juan, Puerto Rico)

Miramar boasts a convenient location within walking distance to beaches, casinos, shops, restaurants, art galleries and entertainment. Most local sightseeing hotspots can also be reached on foot, including Old Town, but there is also a bus going to Old Town that stop right outside the hotel. For convenience, there is also a grocery store close by.

Don't sleep through breakfast. Most guests enjoyed the food very much, saying it was always fresh and delicious. Even though the selection was relatively simple, it was still filling and had a bit of everything. If you're a fan of coffee, make sure to try the espresso.

Make sure to check out the breathtaking views of the city and the ocean from the rooftop terrace, which offers a lounge area. Many guests say it was a major highlight of their stay.

Even though most bathrooms were recently remodeled, many guests still complained about the plumbing at Miramar, saying it needs updating. Some bathroom fixtures, too, need to be replaced. The biggest problem seems to be poor water pressure and limited hot water. Other updates throughout the hotel may be needed as a few guests thought the air conditioner was quite weak and other guests noticed several amenities out of order during their stay.

There is free, but very limited parking onsite. In addition, the lot itself is somewhat hard to find and guests had to do several circles around the hotel before they located it. Fortunately, the hotel staff does guarantee you a spot for your car and often offers complimentary valet parking or alternative lots.

Though most guests didn't have a problem with the internet, a few said that they had trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi.
