Positive Reviews
positive:
Terrific breakfast
Unlike many other La Quinta's, the Las Colinas location offers an extended breakfast that includes many hot foods such as bacon and eggs. This seems to have gone a long way with its guests, who described the breakfast as varied and an excellent start to their day.
positive:
Very good airport shuttle
It seems that many of the hotel's guests were using it for airport layover. To this end, they found that the airport shuttle offered by the hotel was reliable and fast, and let them save money on hiring a car.
positive:
Remarkably quiet location
Considering the proximity to some pretty busy roads, several guests were very surprised that they were not disturbed by road noise during their stay. They felt that the rooms were adequately insulated against noise from the outside.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Problems with slamming doors
A couple of guests mentioned that their sleep was disturbed by doors slamming in the vicinity of their room. While one could blame those letting the doors slam, they tended to blame the hotel for not installing devices that are on the market that would prevent the door from slamming when it closed, and thus ensuring restful sleep for all.
negative:
Suspicious odor in the lobby
While guests couldn't quite put their finger on exactly what it was, a few mentioned that the lobby and elevator didn't quite smell right. It seemed to cause them a small degree of discomfort.
negative:
Fitness area a bit small
While not mentioned very often, a couple of guests reported that the gym was on the small side, causing some overcrowding during popular exercise times in the morning and early evening.
