About Hotel la Perle Montparnasse
Located just a couple of minutes’ walk from both the Tour Montparnasse and the Gare Montparnasse, Hotel La Perle Montparnasse is a boutique property offering good value accommodation.
The rooms have that sleek and modern look typical of contemporary hotels. They are fairly bare-bones, so as to keep costs down, but are perfectly comfortable and have all you’ll need for a good night, including flat screen TV’s and work desks.
Reception is open 24 hours, so late check in is no problem at all. Wi-Fi is free of charge and accessible throughout the building.
A very simple breakfast is served onsite every morning, but for real cuisine you only need to step out your front door to explore the gastronomic wonderland that is Paris.
La Perle Montparnasse is close to numerous metro stations, so all of Paris is easily accessible. The Eiffel Tower is 2.2 miles from the hotel, while the Louvre is two miles to the north.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Great location near Gare Montparnasse
This was almost certainly what most impressed guests about the hotel. It seems that quite a few were travelling via Gare Montparnasse, and found it convenient to be able to walk there and back. Guests also felt the hotel was well placed to see the sights of Paris, since in was easy to access the tourist areas by nearby metro.
positive:
Terrific value for money
Those bringing up the question of value for money were clearly very happy with the value they received during their stay. They felt that, though the hotel may have been a little basic, the room rate was very low and the location excellent.
positive:
Excellent bakery nearby
A surprising number of guests singled out a nearby bakery as being especially good, and definitely worth visiting, even if only for the aroma.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No lift
A number of guests were disappointed to find that there was no lift in the building, not even a tiny one so common in Haussmann-era Parisian buildings. Of course this meant that they had to haul both themselves and their luggage up and down the stairs.
negative:
Rooms a bit too small for some
Like many Parisian hotels, the rooms at this one were said to be very small. Guests not used to Paris hotels were clearly shocked by how small they were, especially when two people were sharing the room. It seems the rooms are best for those who will be spending most of their time out exploring.
negative:
Smell of tobacco smoke
A fair number of guests complained that there was a strong smell of tobacco smoke in some of the public areas of the hotel, even though there was theoretically no smoking allowed there.
