The Hilton San Diego Mission Valley is an older property, but its recent interior renovation is receiving many rave reviews. The lobby and guest rooms are generally described as very clean, modern, and inviting. Bookworms love the spotlight on the headboard for reading in bed, and many also appreciate the motion-activated lights along the floor leading to the bathroom: no more fumbling for the switches in the middle of the night!

Drivers appreciate that there is plenty of parking, and that the hotel is easy to access from several major freeways. Many of the area's top attractions (Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Qualcomm Stadium, Petco Field) are within a 10 to 20-minute drive. The hotel is also right across from a large mall and several restaurants. The trolley station a couple of blocks away offers a convenient lift downtown. Beautiful Mission Beach is only 15 minutes away.

Several guests have reported a sleepless night due to noisy neighbors, barking dogs, or traffic noise. Guests in rooms near the ice machine or elevator have also had a hard time sleeping.
