Many guests had positive comments about the cleanliness of the hotel. Not only were the rooms and common areas kept perfectly clean, but several guests noted that they even smelled clean and fresh, as opposed to the usual scent of cleaning products or scented air fresheners.

Most guests were very impressed by the complimentary breakfast service. They noted that the selection was ample, and that everything was kept fresh and well stocked even during times when the breakfast room was very crowded. They also had positive things to say about the breakfast staff, who were cheerful and efficient.

Previous guests loved the centralized location of this hotel, which made it perfect for visiting all of the many attractions in San Diego. They also appreciated that, traffic depending, it was only 20 minutes away from the airport, and easily accessible off of the five freeway.

A few guests noted that the door to their room had a rather large gap at the bottom, with some claiming it was big enough to stick their hand through. This caused issues with draftiness, sound carrying from the hallway outside, and light shining through at night.

Many reviewers lamented that their room did not have a refrigerator, and perplexing complaint as the hotel's website claims that all the rooms have them. As it turns out, the refrigerator is located in the closet in some of the rooms, making it needlessly difficult for guests to find.

Some previous guests complained that the overall style of the hotel was beginning to look out of date, with furniture, decorations, and bedding that strongly reminded them of the late 80's or early 90's. They would have preferred a more modern look.
