Stunning location.
From this village location, you can venture slightly inland to a number of picture postcard villages. Thornton-le-Dale is probably the most famous + must be one of the fairest in the land. Onward then to Pickering, Goathland and Whitby. Visits wouldn’t

Breakfast is certainly impressive, as are the a la carte choices for later restaurant dining. Fancy a change? There are plenty of alternatives nearby, without the trip into Scarborough and a host of restaurant choices.

Ask not for whom the bell tolls.
You’ll be beyond caring soon. Day and night, on the hour and every hour, the bell rings out from the church next door. Delightful? Hmm!

Taxing taxi costs.
Don’t want to drive, so you take a taxi. Simple! Most taxis, though,(*apparently!) need to come from Scarborough to pick you up to take you there. Guess who pays!

Downstairs, upstairs.
If you are in the, really quite nice, servants’ quarters, there are stairs to climb and low ceilings to cope with. People weren’t as tall in those days.
