positive:
Great Location For The Mayo Clinic
It seems that many people use this as cheap accommodations to be near the Mayo Clinic. If you have a loved one or if you have an appointment yourself and need to stay overnight for a day or two, this hotel will work. It's within walking distance to the clinic and the hotel has free parking, so the convenience of the hotel works out well.
positive:
Discount Comes In Handy
The hotel provides people staying at the hotel a discount to the onsite restaurant. It's a nice gesture, and the food isn't bad either.
positive:
Attentive Staff
The staff is lovely. It's not an upscale facility, but the staff try to give their professional best.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Air Conditioning Problem
The air conditioning is strange. First of all, it's too small for the window. You might find the gaps filled with cardboard and masking tape. If you go during the colder months, cold air just seeps right through. It seems during the early fall, even if it's cold, the heat is not on.
negative:
Watch That Step
You have to step up to get into the bathroom. It's just one more annoyance you have to remember if you happen to wake up during the night. If you forget the step is there you are probably in for a fall. Additionally, there is no room to place toiletries.
negative:
Dated, Old, In Poor Condition
Unfortunately, even though this hotel is ideal if you are going to the Mayo Clinic, it's not particularly known for comfort. It's dated and needs fixing-up pronto. The carpet is worn, the building is old, the décor is outdated. The bathroom has old fixtures and the hot and cold water changes at will when taking a shower if someone flushes the toilet at the same time. It's just nuisances that can't be ignored when staying in public accommodations.
