Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient location.
Guests like the convenient location of this hotel. It's right next to the freeway, so it's the perfect stopover if you're road-tripping via Tucson, and it also makes a good base for exploring local attractions and national parks. Central Tucson is just a short drive away, too.
positive:
Plentiful free breakfast.
Wake up and smell the coffee - the breakfast at Best Western Plus Gold Poppy Inn is worth getting up for. Guests rate the choice of dishes, including scrambled eggs and waffles, and best of all, it's all included in your room rate.
positive:
Calm and quiet.
Given its proximity to passing traffic, you might expect this hotel to be a bit noisy, but guests say that it's actually very calm and quiet. Once you're inside the hotel, there's very little noise disturbance, helping you to get a great night's sleep.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Cold rooms.
Some guests say that they were a bit cold at night, since they couldn't get the heating to work properly. While the air con unit seems to be efficient in pumping out cool air, getting the room warm isn't always so easy. If you have real problems, you may want to request a room change.
negative:
Spotty WiFi.
The WiFi can be a bit hit and miss, sometimes working fine, but at other times the signal drops or it runs slowly, according to guests. If you're trying to stream a movie, you may have issues, but if you're just checking emails, it should be up to the job.
negative:
Minor cleaning issues.
While the standards of housekeeping are ok, some guests have noted minor cleaning issues in some of the rooms, or have experienced a somewhat erratic housekeeping service. If you have a problem, let the front desk know, as they should be quick to sort it.
