There are no noisy pubs and bars in the vicinity of the hotel which allowed guests to enjoy peaceful and quiet evenings. Many thoroughly enjoyed the scenic views of the gardens from their rooms as well as being able to go for long walks across the 16 acres of private grounds surrounding the hotel.

Those who popped in for afternoon tea as well as guests who dined at the restaurant said that the quality of food was of a very high standard. The dishes were describes as being full of flavour and made from fresh local ingredients. The service was said to be attentive which added to the enjoyment of dining experience.

Guests said that they were greeted with a smile upon arrival and were made to feel welcome for the duration of their stay. Reception staff offered helpful tips and advice with regards to the local area whilst the waiting staff were said to be attentive and courteous.

Guests brought up several maintenance issues ranging from faulty heated towel rails through to cracked sinks and windows which they did not expect to find in a 4-star establishment.

Those whose rooms were located close to the function suite said that they found it difficult to get to sleep due to the loud music and noise made by the party guests. If you are a light sleeper it's advisable to ask for a room away from the function suite.

Some guests mentioned that their rooms and bathrooms felt either too hot or too cold and were disappointed to find that they couldn't control the room temperature as there was no thermostat in the rooms.
