Most guests agree that the staff of this hotel is almost always friendly and smiling. They go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and tend to every need quickly. Several guests said that staff members gave them directions to local destinations and other assistance.

Cataract Gorge and other local attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. Many guests also loved the fact that there are many shops and restaurants very close to the property, which meant that they didn't have to pay for a taxi just to do some shopping.

The entire facility feels dated according to guests. The bathrooms and plumbing fixtures are old. Many guests said that the furniture, carpets, and beds seemed well worn and in need of replacement also.

This hotel can be extremely noisy. There is a busy road that runs right next to the hotel, and even the soundproofing inside between the rooms is lacking. Many guests reported that they could hear every little noise outside, in the hallway, and in adjacent rooms.

The hotel advertises some of the best views in the area. However, those views can only be seen from some rooms on the upper floor. Many of the lower floor rooms only have views of the walls of buildings next door. A lot of guests were disappointed to have no view upon arrival.
