Hotel Americas Best Value Inn St. Louis (St Louis, USA)

Guests felt that the price of accommodation at this hotel offers very good value for money, bearing in mind the location at walking distance of the city center, and its attractions.

It was said that visitors who stayed here did not "expect the Ritz" nor did they get it, however the room was clean and comfortable, well air conditioned and quiet. Furthermore the staff were friendly and very obliging. One tip given was that the rooms on the third floor -there are elevators- with odd numbers, are quiet and face the river.

Guests appreciate the nice amenities in the room, such as a mini fridge and a microwave, there is free coffee in the lobby. Those who are are just looking for a place to overnight and not spend time in the room, it is ideal.

The hotel is somewhat dated, and there were infrastructure problems: a loose door, a non-functional phone and a leaking sink, missing plugs, and overhead lights not working were mentioned. A guest commented that they would like to have seen a coffee maker in the room, rather than having to go to the lobby for coffee.

The noise from the highway intrudes somewhat on that side of the hotel, and the breakfast is by no means a feast. A group of students who stayed were scathing about the odors of the hotel and lifts -urine and cigarette smells, and mustiness- and found that some room doors appear to have been forced open in the past.

This hotel attracts some very mixed reactions, many of them negative, and undoubtedly is in need of freshening up: something that would seem to be well worth doing in view of its convenient location.
