Hotel Americas Best Value Inn St. Louis Downtown (St Louis, USA)

Guests liked the fact that the hotel was near the train station, 14 miles from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and within walking distance of many attractions. They appreciated being able to walk to the historic city center, the Edward Jones Dome and the Cervantes Convention Center. There is also a casino and several bus stops for easy access to all of St. Louis.

Several guests stated that they received friendly, personal service from the front-desk staff that exceeded their expectations.

Guests reported that the rooms are clean and housekeeping provides fresh toiletries, towels and sheets on a daily basis.

The hotel is an older property, and guests noted that there were some aspects that they wished were updated. For example, the ventilation system emits a smoky odor despite this being a smoke-free hotel, the doors don't lock very easily, the rooms smell like mildew, and the hallway carpets are frayed and stained.

Several guests reported that the rooms facing the highway were quite loud due to all the traffic noise coming in day and night. They also mentioned that the heating system and the air-conditioning created a lot of noise when used. Furthermore, the walls appear to be quite thin, which makes it easy to witness other guests' movements and the doors aren't completely soundproofed.

Even though the hotel advertises a continental breakfast, guests found that it was extremely limited with the only options usually being muffins, bananas and coffee.
