Clean and comfortable guest rooms
Guests are typically pleased by the levels of cleanliness and comfort offered by the hotel rooms, although it's the little extra touches that really satisfy. The choice of hard and soft pillows, the quality of the free toiletries, and the reliability of the Wi-Fi are all appreciated. Housekeeping staff keep the rooms fresh during your stay.
positive:
Good location
The location of the hotel suits guests, many of whom mention the nearby Long Branch Boardwalk and the availability of shopping and dining in the surrounding area. Most guests find the setting reasonably quiet, although there is a little traffic noise from time to time. Also of note is the hotel's proximity to NYC - the perfect destination for a day trip.
positive:
Impressive service
The staff at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites West Long Branch seem like they are a genuinely friendly group of people. So friendly in fact, that many guests mention that they were welcomed like one of the family. Any issues seem to be addressed quickly and the staff is happy to help with information and advice about the local area.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Immediate area tricky to navigate by car
A minor point perhaps, but enough guests mention it to warrant keeping it in mind. Reports indicate that the area immediately surrounding the hotel is very tricky to navigate by car. Apparently, there are enough twists and turns to send your sat nav into a meltdown.
negative:
Disappointing aspects to breakfast
Although many guests enjoyed breakfast, others felt that it missed the mark in a couple of areas. First off, the hotel uses paper plates and plastic cutlery - and if that wasn't bad enough, they're quite flimsy. Also, certain food items are found to be not quite as hot as they should be.
negative:
Some rooms are noisy
While some guests report hearing a little traffic noise, especially those guests who were allocated a room on a lower floor, a bigger noise issue seems to be at play here. Guests in rooms near the lobby and elevators suggest these rooms are to be avoided thanks to continual disturbances.
