positive:
Superb location
You can't really beat the location of this hotel. Hand your car to the valet and forget about it. You'll be near the Savannah River, as well as shopping, dining, and cultural attractions such as Forsyth Park. Tours of the area are easy to come by and are a great way to benefit from some insider info.
positive:
Excellent facilities
Guests are impressed by both the quality and selection of facilities on offer at the Holiday Inn Express Savannah-Historic District. Stay productive in the business center if you must, but don't forget to grab a Mint Julep to savor as you enjoy the sights from the hotel's observation deck.
positive:
Reasonably priced
Many reviews indicate that guests feel they have enjoyed value for money here. The rates are not super cheap but are competitive for this area. You'll need to allow a little extra for valet parking if you're bringing your car (or find your own space) but breakfast and Internet access are thrown in for free.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Minor issues with rooms
Make no mistake - it's likely that you'll be thrilled with the standard of the rooms. But, guests do encounter minor issues such as loud air-conditioning units, marks on the showers, and a few dirty windows. However, these issues were not deal breakers for the majority of guests.
negative:
Not every guest enjoys breakfast
Feedback about the breakfast is a little mixed. While the opinion does sway toward it being enjoyable, guests do raise some concerns. These include a lack of sufficient variety and limited seating. Also, the paper plates and plastic cutlery are disappointing.
negative:
Rooms facing Bay Street are noisy
Although some guests mentioned that their rooms featured a balcony, they also note that the rooms were subject to some noise from the bustling Bay Street. This lessens the enjoyment a little.
