Positive Reviews
positive:
Small but comfortable rooms
Most downtown hotels are short on space when it comes to rooms and it does seem that the Holiday Inn Express Denver Downtown is no exception. However, despite the small size, guests find the rooms are in great shape with comfortable beds and high quality amenities.
positive:
Convenient location
Step outside this hotel and you'll have much of Denver of your doorstep. Guests describe the immediate neighborhood as vibrant with an excellent selection of shops and dining options. You'll be within walking distance of some major attractions and a short drive from others.
positive:
Impressive facilities
Guests tend to be impressed by the selection of facilities. The fitness center is particularly well equipped and the breakfast is described as better than most. Also of note is the hotel's partnership with the Brown Palace Hotel, as this allows you to access a better range of facilities than you perhaps expect.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Unusual bathroom doors
Many guests comment on the sliding glass doors that separate the bathrooms from the rest of the room or suite. Some guests loved the design but whether you feel the same will largely depend on who you are traveling with. Privacy, or lack thereof, may be an issue.
negative:
Expensive on-site parking
While it's not unusual to have to pay extra for parking in a centrally located hotel, guests do tend to find the charge fairly excessive. It's a valet only service, so there are no savings available for self-parking. The charge can add up to a significant amount over a longer stay.
negative:
Rooms can feel hot
A number of guests mention that they found the rooms were a little too hot at times. The options to control the air-conditioning units seem limited. Plus, the windows don't open and there are no fans to use as a back up.
