Positive Reviews
positive:
Restaurant serves excellent fare
You'd have to look very hard indeed to find anything bad written about the food at Heath Cottage. Guests are very nearly in complete agreement that their meals there were tasty, plentiful and served in an agreeable atmosphere.
positive:
Excellent value for money
A couple of guests compared this hotel to the regular hotel chains they had considered staying in, and found it came out the winner. They were happy that they had chosen a hotel with an individual character and atmosphere for no more than they would have spent at a chain hotel.
positive:
Convenient for the M1 and M62
Motorists make a point of mentioning that they loved that they could access these two motorways within a short ride from the hotel, with very little hassle. It saved on driving time.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Exterior facade a bit severe
Almost all guests are very impressed with the interior of the hotel, describing it as very tasteful, but were less enamoured of the exterior facade. They describe it as very stark and severe, and it certainly wasn't the best first impression.
negative:
Rooms a bit on the small side
While this was not a common complaint, a couple of guests do say that their room was a bit too small for comfort. Like many older properties it seems that rooms in the same class may differ quite a bit in size.
negative:
Rooms maybe a bit too warm
While ideal room temperature is obviously a matter of personal taste, there were a few winter guests who found their rooms too warm and stuffy for their liking. There was no individually controlled thermostat.
